Sunshine and Bluebells!

Finally we seem to be getting some good weather! Lots of warm sunny days in Hemel recently which is nice! And I've been out making the most of it! Besides according to the NHS pregnancy calender thing that I downloaded I should be making sure I get outside for some sunshine because of the vitamin A or something! The exercise is good for me anyway! Being me I've been out and about with my camera! I hadn't been out in the fields and woods behind where we live for a while a it was a lovely surprise to find it all so changed! What was all brown has been transformed into green and flowers, and how wonderful to find the ground covered in bluebells! Here are some pictures from my walks this week!

Scan

I've just come back from our first ultrasound scan! There really is a baby in there! Apparently baby's due a few days earlier than we thought, on the 24th, but it's only three days out, so it probably won't make much difference! Andy was grinning the whole way through! At least he can stop going on about it maybe being twins now we know it's only one! It was funny to see it wriggling around (and it was doing a lot of wriggling!) The nurse said that it had one had up by it's head and it's legs crossed at the ankles! A chilled out baby then! It feels more real now we've seen baby and it's strange thinking about it wriggling around in there when I can't feel it! It will be a while before I can and I'm looking forward to it! (although I'll probably think differently when it's kicking my insides and keeping me up at night!) The nurse said everything is ok, which is good to know.
Well, I've got to go and bake a cake for a party we're going to on Saturday so I'll be off!

Exciting News!

Hello all! Andy and I are delighted to announce that we are, God-willing, expecting a new addition to the family! Baby Doggrell is due 27th November! I am 12 weeks now and we are due to have a scan on Friday, which we're both quite excited about!
If you're wondering how I'm feeling, I've been fine really! No morning sickness, which I'm thankful for! I've just been really tired mostly! But people keep telling me that things get better in the middle (before getting worse again!) Oh well! It'll be worth it I'm sure!
I have stopped looking for a job because I always planned on giving up work when I had a baby, if I possibly could, to concentrate on being a mum. Andy and I have agreed that this is best. Besides, I don't think that many people would employ me now, especially as there are plenty of people looking for jobs these days!
I'll keep you updated with how everything is going and put pictures on when I can!

A Weekend Away

Hope you enjoyed last weeks extreme sheep!

We had a lovely weekend with my family in Shrewsbury this weekend. Andy took Friday off so we had a nice long weekend which we spent catching up with friends as well as family. We stayed with my grandparents in Plealey, which is quieter than mum and dad's! It was good to see our friends from Shrewsbury again, as we haven't been there since Christmas.
Surprisingly, for me, I didn't take any pictures! So I'm afraid there's nothing to show you! But it was nice to get away and relax.
We will hopefully have some news for you next week, but you'll have to wait until then....

Andy's work is very busy at the moment, as I imagine is common in a lot of places that have the same amount of work but fewer people to do it! He is responsible for about 80 schools matinance and building projects, which means he was especially grateful for the break, even if it was short!
I'm mainly just doing housework these days which is not very interesting to write about! I have started to help out with the parent and toddler group at church which I am enjoying! It's different to playgroup, but it's nice to be back 'working' with children again, even if it is volutary!

I think that's about it for now, more from the Doggrell family soon!
